YetepThe return of GRiZ continues to be the best story in EDM, and his latest single, “Nobody Else” with vocalist Kaleena Zanders, is another brilliant chapter. Landing just ahead of his highly anticipated NYE ball-drop performance at Decadence Arizona: The Portal of I11usions, the track feels like classic GRiZ, and what his hiatus has refined.
GRiZ’s signature, soulful touch is all over the track, creating a fluid tension that lets Zanders’ vocals shine. When she delivers the pivotal line, “I can’t get enough, ain’t nobody else make me feel like,” the track morphs into a drop that defines his legacy, a wave of pure melodic dubstep where euphoric melodies meet conviction-filled bass.
It’s in the track’s second half, however, where the growth of his comeback truly speaks. GRiZ leans into his playful sound design, and clever twists, showcasing a producer who has honed his skill into a sharper, more confident point.
After a long break, GRiZ is operating with a renewed focus that makes him an undeniable must-see act. “Nobody Else” is the perfect proof, and his Decadence Arizona set promises to be the triumphant celebration his return deserves.
