YetepMystic State has built a reputation as one of the most versatile acts operating between drum and bass and dubstep. As a duo, they have consistently moved between tempos while keeping their sound grounded in low-end bass and ethereal atmospheres. Drawing influence from early UK bass culture, their music balances heavy sub pressure with the restraint that is best seen in a light drum and bass tune, allowing space for melody to do real work. The Flora EP reflects that approach clearly, blending dubstep-rooted basslines with fluid drum and bass rhythms, while leaning into a more musical and emotive direction than many releases in the space.
The EP expands on that idea by introducing layered vocals, natural ambience, and organic sound design that runs throughout the project. Elements of nature are used as part of the rhythm and other pieces rather than decoration, giving the release a cohesive feel from track to track. Each cut is built around contrast: slower, weight-driven bass sections transition into lighter, rolling percussion without losing momentum. The result is a release that feels intentional and complete, showing how Mystic State continues to refine their sound while continuing to push their magical drum and bass with Flora EP.
