YetepAt age 13, Harley Streten started making music with software that was included for free in a box of cereal. Now, at age 27, Streten, also known as Flume, has over a billion streams on Spotify, a Grammy award, and multiple international tours. In 2018, Flume announced that he would be going on hiatus until 2019, and while it broke our hearts, this new music has been more than worth it. In March Flume surprised us all with a breathtaking mixtape, Hi This Is Flume (Mixtape) and now he’s done it again with a new single, “Let You Know.”
“Let You Know” features the English indie pop band, London Grammar and, like any Flume song, the vocals are strikingly beautiful. The soft, dancey melodies are perfect for chill summer nights. The song has countless elements that help it obtain that new future bass aesthetic that Flume has mastered perfectly. From tiny plucks to subtle saws to percussive hits, “Let You Know” is full of gentle, yet complex pieces that come together to make another perfect Flume track.
