YetepAbove & Beyond produces track after track, each one defining a different emotion, a different feeling. Yet, this track is truly something special. And since it was released Monday, March 4 on Anjunabeats Volume 10 it won’t be relatively unknown for long. It’ll fall in line with A&B’s incredible track record of music sooner than later.
“Walter White” (yes, as in the Breaking Bad character) first premiered on the very first session of Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Radio Show in Bangalore, India. While still unnamed at the time, the track captivated my ears and hooked me from the start with an electro bounce with addictive underlying beat.
Cue moody Above & Beyond riff out of nowhere. Each strike of the chord, each caress of the flow, chills sparkle across your entire body. You can’t even think about pulling out your phone to Shazam the song. Yes, this song really does enslave you.
But wait, the tone of the track switches, again. Heavy trace notes throw themselves at you as the music begins to speed, begins to build. You close you eyes and throw your hands into the air, just in time for what I consider to be one of the most satisfying plummets to earth you will ever have the privilege to pulsate your ear drums.
Say you’re at the front of the trance stage. If you were to look back at this moment of this song, you would see a mob of people forfeiting their intuition to the music like never before. That’s what I experienced at White Wonderland this past New Year’s Eve. Unbelievable.
This song has just been released through Anjunabeats Volume 10 along with a slew of great progressive tracks that Anjunabeats is known to provide.
To say this is the best song that Above & Beyond has ever released would be blasphemy (or alchemy, one of the two). But no doubt, it has just joined the 10-way tie.
