YetepFans of the Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum duo took to the theaters this summer for the comedy sequel 22 Jump Street. While fans came for the laughs, it was not too hard to get pumped up as well thanks to the movie’s musical selection. One can assume that 22 Jump Street might have been targeting dance music fans with its dance-infused soundtrack. If not, they might have created new fans of the ever-growing genre unintentionally.
22 Jump Street follows the same premise as the original movie except that Hill and Tatum’s mission revolves around going to college. With this foundation, the movie makes sure to show what many college kids nowadays do: party. The movie did its research as many of these scenes feature electronic dance music that you would hear at any college party in America. The movie has also released a soundtrack album which includes many big names in dance music like Duck Sauce, Skrillex, Bingo Players, Tiesto, Flosstradamus and Diplo. You can check out the full tracklist below:
1. Work Hard, Play Hard – Wiz Khalifa
2. NRG (Skrillex, Kill The Noise, Milo & Otis Remix) – Duck Sauce
3. Get Up (Rattle) – Bingo Players (feat. Far East Movement)
4. Wasted – Tiësto (feat. Matthew Koma)
5. Can’t You See – Shermanology
6. Models And Bottles – Blind Scuba Divers
7. Check My Steezo – Blind Scuba Divers
8. TTU (Too Turnt Up) – Flosstradamus (feat. Waka Flocka Flame)
9. I Own It – Nacey (feat. Angel Haze)
10. Express Yourself – Diplo (feat. Nicky Da B)
11. Freak – Deorro (feat. Steve Bays)
12. 22 Jump Street (Theme From The Motion Picture) – Angel Haze (feat. Ludacris)
13. Live Forever – Travis Barker (feat. Juicy J)
The movie also features a cameo from Mad Decent‘s own, Diplo. The directors of 22 Jump Street wanted to create a spring break bash for one of the scenes so Diplo was enlisted to help out. As the Major Lazer member stated, “No one can bring spring break like Diplo.” You can catch the 22 Jump Street featurette featuring Diplo above.
