YetepI’m currently road tripping to downtown Las Vegas to witness the magic that is Life is Beautiful Festival. I should be sleeping because I’m about to be partying for the next three days, but I’m just too darn excited to sit still. Do I catch the beginning of Porter Robinson or stay for the end of Major Lazer? Ugh, Kygo and Madeon are performing at the same time. Too many decisions.
Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas is kicking off its three day party on Friday, and the grand finale is Sunday. With headliners Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons and Stevie Wonder, our beloved DJs are holding their own performing on the same stages. EDM seems to be the most represented genre of music this year, and I’ve been sitting in this passenger seat trying to coordinate a schedule to see them all for the past two hours. To see the entire line-up, click here.

What to expect from LIB? Probably the best weekend of my life. This festival is a true celebration of culture. This multi-genre festival isn’t just about music. It’s featuring celebrity chefs, well known food vendors, food trucks and mixologists. My mission is to find which vendor makes the best chicken fingers in between sets.
Artists and comedians have a line-up of their own featuring street artists, speakers and of course, The Fat Jewish (who is a must-see). If you need a break from dancing your heart out head on over to the art section of the festival. As if this wasn’t enough, LIB is hosting three speakers to give talks as a part of their “Learning Series,” and set up an entire stage dedicated to local performers.
The only thing this festival is missing is charity. Oh wait, it’s got that too. VH1 Save The Music and Toyota are teaming up to raise money for music education in schools. Toyota has built a life-sized Whispering Willow tree that will be stationed at the psychedelic Toyota site on the LIB grounds. Festival go-ers will be asked to write what music means to them on a leaf, attach it to the tree, snap a photo and post it to social media with the hashtag #ToyotaGiving.

The Whispering Willow has made appearances at Nocturnal Wonderland, Lollapolooza and Outside Lands this summer and is going to grow leaves as the weekend goes on to show how important music is to the world. Toyota will donate $1 for every leaf on the tree at the end of the festival.
Kygo, Knife Party, Jauz, a s’mores food truck and The Fat Jewish all in the same place?! There’s a good chance I’ll either die from absolute satisfaction at this festival or die on Monday morning from Life is Beautiful withdrawals. Stay tuned for more updates from downtown Las Vegas with your favorite DJs killing it at Life Is Beautiful!
