YetepKaskade announced the Freaks of Nature summer tour Tuesday on his Facebook page. The 40 city tour has stops in cities nationwide including Vegas, New York, Seattle, Denver, and Miami. According to the venerable American DJ/producer himself, this will be the largest tour ever to hit his schedule.
“It’s the most ambitious tour I’ve ever done,” Kaskade said. “Just the number of cities, and the actual stage set I’m taking on the road in itself is an unprecedented feat for me. People who’ve seen me before will never have seen this and for those who have yet to see me, it’ll only enhance the experience that much more.”
The trailer sheds some light on the meaning behind the name. “We’re all just freaks, come here and just enjoy it,” Kaskade said. “We’re all really different people. Why don’t we just come here and have a party.”
Freaks of Nature follows the 20 city, LiveNation produced IDentity Festival he co-headlined last year with Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Skrillex, Avicii, and Chuckie among others. Freaks of Nature is set to be bigger than ID Fest on many accounts.
Kaskade’s latest album release, 2011’s Fire and Ice, was met with critical praise and cracked Billboard’s Top 200 chart, a phenomenal achievement for a dance album in the US. The album features collaborations with Mindy Gledhill on “Eyes” (the album’s debut single), Rebecca and Fiona on “Turn It Down”, and the inevitable Haley on “Llove”.

(Update. If you happen to be in Miami next week, you may be able to pick up a Freaks of Nature mask from the street team promoting the event at Miami Music Week.)
