YetepMarshmello, who first emerged on the scene in 2015 has taken the dance world by storm and enlisted the help of up-and-coming artist Khalid, who’s best known for his track “Location,” for his latest single “Silence.” The song is anything but, however, with Khalid’s powerful, soulful vocals taking center stage on this tune.
It’s only been five months since the 19-year-old Khalid made his official debut in the music industry with the release of his American Teen album (that’s been ranked one of 2017’s 50 Best Albums So Far), but he continues to be recruited for some of the coolest collaborations, “Silence” being the latest of those.
As depicted in the title, the song is about finding the strength to express your feelings and break the ‘silence’. The 19-year-old vocalist proclaims he’s “found peace in your violence” over shifting, snapping synths. Khalid delivers emotional, soulful vocals alongside the vibrant production Marshmello excels at. This duo may seem like an unlikely pair but the track is an undeniable success that we can’t get enough of.
Check out some of that top-notch production when Marshmello headlines the first ever Goldrush festival this November. Get more info and tickets here.
