YetepIt’s been a long time coming, but the time if finally here. Kayzo just released his first full-length album, and it’s killer. Kayzo, born Hayden Capuozzo in Los Angeles, is known for his integration of trap and hardstyle genres. He got his start in early 2012, releasing single after single on different record labels, including his own, Doghouse Recordings. The latest 11-track LP release, Overload, lives up to the Kayzo name, while incorporating elements from outside genres. In an interview with Billboard, he said, “Overload pays tribute to my youth and the musical styles of rock and pop punk that helped get me through my toughest times.”
Overall the album is energizing and mosh-pit inspiring. We’ve waited a long time for this, and Kayzo has delivered something that appeals to all types of music fans. Check it out below and see what you think.
Kayzo does not hold back in embracing these musical styles. In “ALRIGHT THEN,” featuring pop-bunk band The Zealots, you’ll hear Screamo vocals followed by a Hardstyle chorus–a combination not common in the EDM world. Similarly, “EXHALE,” featuring Micah Martin of The Zealots, will take you back to the early 2000’s with Martin’s pop-punk voice set to Kayzo’s heavy bass beat. That’s not to say Kayzo stuck with only pop-punk. In “WAITING,” you’ll hear a classic build-up and dirty dubstep drop.
Kayzo’s album couldn’t have come at a better time. The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents Overload Tour will head to Tucson on March 15 and Phoenix on March 16. Don’t miss out on a wild, bass-filled night.
