YetepWhen, New Orleans-born L.A.- based producer, Trent Cantrelle scored Essential New Tune at WMC 2005, with his smash rock hybrid “Runaway”, he was clocked by Pete Tong as “One of the hottest dance talents from the US”. The instant hit was licensed in over 10 countries and carried on to be one of the top tunes that year.
After breaking onto the global scene his DJ schedule kicked into high gear playing some of the biggest clubs around the globe. Along the way keeping up momentum by dropping heavily charted hits such asTurbofunks “Gotta Move” remix and his reworking ofPete Hellers “Big Love”, which Eric Morillo donned “the biggest tune of Ibiza 2007“. Shortly following, theDeep Flexion “Emotions Of The Night“ remix leaped across genres with a spot on Tiesto’s Club Life radio show and DJ Mag dubbing Trent “Man of the moment“. The high profile productions helped further launch his career in the US and abroad, landing him a residency at the famed Avalon club in Los Angeles and accompanying the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Sander Kleinenbergand Sandra Collins on tour. In addition to the club circuit, he performed at one of America’s biggest outdoor music events, Coachella Music Festival, and more recently three sets, including a main stage slot, at the largest electronic music event in US history, The Electric Daisy Carnival 2011, with crowds of 100k.
In a day and age where most DJ sets come pre planned and formatted, Trent relies heavily on the energy of the crowd for programming. His sound leans toward big room peak-time house, as heard on his recent releases “Come With Me” and the DMC Buzz Chart top ten “Robot”. Studio duties have seen him work with everyone from Princess Superstar to remixing mainstream acts such as Seal, Maroon 5, and Mutemath. Over the years having amassed an impressive catalog of original tracks and remixes he has appeared on such labels as Ministry Of Sound, Toolroom, Perfecto, Black Hole, Subliminal, Ultra and his own Sounds Like imprint.
2010 saw the biggest year yet for releases with a multitude hitting the Beatport Top 100 andItunes Top 100. 2011 has been an even more explosive year rounding things off with his #1 Beatport smash “I Want A Freak“.
