Bingo Players (Paul Bäumer & Maarten Hoogstraten) have been left gasping for air after a seriously hectic year with bookings in the Netherlands and abroad. Outgrowing local bingo halls to play with the big ballers of the game has been the result of their hard work and devotion. The Bingo Players appear to have been made for each other, the proof of which came in November 2009, when the DJ/producer duo topped the Beatport overall chart for a second time with their remake of the dance floor classic, “Devotion”, which stayed on no. 1 for two weeks and over a month in the top 10! Bassjackers, a.k.a. Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst, had not foreseen what was coming when they started out with their collaboration. Marlon was already DJ-ing for a while and Ralph experimented a lot with making different kinds of dance music. Marlon was mainly playing house music at the time and then the idea came to push Ralphs productions in that direction, so that Marlon could play the tracks in his sets. Mackenzie Johnson, better known as MAKJ, uncovered a passion for mixing and DJ’ing at only 15 years of age. While living overseas in China as a professional racecar driver, the teenager grabbed hold of his first set of Technics 1200 Turntables. As he experimented with the new equipment, Johnson also took advantage of his foreign exposure and critically studied the technical nuances and styles set before him in the most popular overseas clubs.
