RB Weekend Preview: A Storm Is Approaching and With It Comes Rain

The overcast is no joke. A storm is coming to town and we all need to be ready. Not ready to escape, shelter ourselves from, or hide from the storm, but rather to embrace the storm. The storm brings with it amazing talents like Prep School Recordings artist, Dr. Fresch who will be playing on the roof of Bar Smith and contributing by raining his house beats down upon you all. Along with the Dr. Fresch, the storm blows your worst nightmare into town as well. NGHTMRE, the LA-based DJ/producer, will take over Urbane Manner on that same night to electrify you all with his lightning trap skills! On Saturday, rather than settle, the storm will intensify. German model/DJ, Miss Nine, will rattle your bones on Saturday morning when she brings her progressive mix to Release Pool Party, making waves with the incessant beats. And finally, the storm reaches its peak on Saturday night when the rain refuses to cease. Rain Man, the former Krewella member, joins us at the Monarch to drench us in his dirty new music and ensure that we end our weekend with a tornado of a time. Monarch better have a disaster clean up crew ready, cause Rain Man is holding nothing back!

Step Into The Office of Dr. Fresch for BFF at Bar Smith (8/28   9pm)

Dr. Fresch kicks of the weekend at Bar Smith playing a very special rooftop set for Big Fun Fridays! Dr. Fresch is an LA local who began his career as a DJ/producer at the ripe young age of 17. The artists has quite the musical palette, having experience in many different genres of music from classical to rock to jazz, and now he blends all that he has learned over the years to create his funky fresh electronic beats. Dr. Fresch’s name has been skyrocketing as of late, playing festivals like Coachella, Paradiso, and Nocturnal Wonderland, as well as by creating a impressively in demand mix series which he refers to as the Prescription. You can check out Dr. Fresch this Friday, and in the meantime, check out this write up by Whitney Mooney on Dr. Fresch as part of the Weekly Underground Sound!

Watch Your Dreams Turn into a NGHTMRE at Urbane Manner (8/28   9pm)

After completely destroying festivals like Ultra Miami, EDC Las Vegas, and Lollapalooza earlier this year, the other LA-based producer coming to town this Friday night, NGHTMRE, is set to incinerate Scottsdale as he makes a stop in Arizona as part of his Street Tour. The title of the tour comes from his recently released new track entitled “Street”, which is a vicious trap track that begs listeners to get down low. At the beginning of the year, NGHTMRE released a sickeningly raw EP with Slander, Nuclear Bonds, which garnered the producers some much deserved attention from artists like Flosstradamus, Carnage, The Chainsmokers, Dirtyphonics, and many more. In addition to the EP, NGHTMRE received the huge honor of being the creator of the only ID track featured in Skrillex’s epic closing set at UMF Miami. And to keep it coming, just this week the absolutely killer DJ dropped an absolutely killer remix of Keys N Krates’ infamous “Dum Dee Dum” as a free download! We better see you there at Urbane Manner!

Tune Into Channel 9 for Miss Nine at Release Pool Party (8/29   11am)

This Saturday, German superstar model and DJ, Miss Nine, comes to Scottsdale for the Release Pool Party! Miss Nine has been busy traveling the world over the past couple of months, playing shows in Southeast Asia, China, and South Korea. She takes a break from the Asian countries however, to join us in the USA where her progressive beats will be making waves in the Talking Stick Pool. Miss Nine has been around for quite a while, beginning her career in 2003, being approached by Deep Dish in 2005, and creating her own label, 925 Music, in 2008. Since then, she has been pushing her 925 label with various mixes and compilation displaying the talent that she has discovered and supported with her unique taste-making habits. You can catch Miss Nine monthly via her radio show Nine Sessions which is now on its 57th episode. However, before the next episode releases, catch her mix at Talking Stick Resort this Saturday!

And With it Comes Rain Man at The Monarch Theatre (8/29   9pm)

The storm will end but not until 2am on Sunday morning. Rain Man closes out the weekend on at the Monarch Theatre delivering to us all his new solo material that he has been working on since departing from Krewella early last year. Kris Trindl has been hard at work, building up his name as a solo artist since 2014, so we can expect a riot of a show as this great talent looks to show to us all that he really has what it takes to start a party. As part of his Visionary Tour, Rain Man just played VELD Music Festival in Toronto Canada earlier this month alongside Deadmau5 and many others. Also he has made stops in other cities like Dallas, San Diego, San Antonio, and more. Thus far, as a solo artist, Trindl has released new original tracks like “Visionary”, “Make the Fire Burn”, and a 30 second preview of an unreleased track via Soundcloud. Expect to hear a slew of IDs when he come to set fire to Monarch on Saturday night. The only remedy is Rain.

Come out and get washed away in the storm of music coming your way this weekend! See you out there!
