YetepThe year 2016 seems to have the theme of reinvention. As artists take the new year on with a new slate, reinventing their modus operandi, Philadelphia-based artist MitiS, is taking 2016 with a different approach. In an aim to reconnect with his fans, MitiS is embracing the sound that he started out with. Getting into his piano-driven melodic bass roots, MitiS is bringing “Foundations” into the ears of all fans, new and old alike.
“The single brings me back to when i really got into producing – just letting my mind and soul drift while writing music. Not worrying about what people think or anything like that. Just making music for me and having fun.” – MitiS
Coming off of the launch of his new independent label, Born Records, MitiS sought to find some missing component of his label. On the search for heart and depth in the sounds of his productions, he found that the best reinvention was to go back to the basics. The first single off of his latest EP gives listeners just that, a back-to-basics approach to reinvention. Both the “Foundations” single and the EP of the same name, incorporate more classical music elements than any of Mitis’ previous works, but he maintains his style by fusing it with his trademark melodic bass riffs. This EP is sure to be a turning point in the artistic evolution of MitiS, marking a crucial shift in his sound. If this is just a glimpse of what MitiS has in store for 2016, it’s going to be hard for anyone to stay in their seats patiently waiting for what’s next. Be sure to get a listen (and the free download) to the new single “Foundations” from MitiS, as well as a preview of the Foundations EP, available everywhere on March 1st.
