RB Weekend Preview: Clinton Sparks, DJ Competition Finals, Sacha Robotti, Ekali

October has come and gone, but we’re not slowing down any. The partying doesn’t have to stop because our November lineup is just as hot. Starting it all off this weekend we have Clinton Sparks at Salt on Friday. Saturday night we’re hosting the DJ Competition finals at Monarch Theatre and Sacha Robotti‘s Sloth Acid Tour in Monarch’s Scarlet Room. Rounding it off we have Ekali‘s Babylon Tour at Monarch on Sunday.

11/3 – Clinton Sparks @ Salt

Clinton Sparks is an American DJ, producer, songwriter, recording artist, and radio/television personality. He has worked with some of the best in the industry including Lady Gaga, Akon, Ludacris, T-Pain, and The Game. As a teenager, Clinton would produce mixtapes, driving along the East Coast to distribute them in whichever way that he could. He cunningly pretended to have a successful online radio show, luring major label artists like Eminem, Wu-Tang Clan, and Mobb Deep to visit his studio (in his mother’s basement) and record verses over his beats. Some of his songs include Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” Akon’s “Sorry, Blame It on Me”, Plies’ “She Got It Made,” and T-Pain’s “Kiss Her.” Join us for Salt’s 2 Year Anniversary with banging tunes all night long.

In August we hosted the first round of our Annual DJ Competition. The talent was high and the stakes were even higher, but out of the 12 artists and two wild cards we’ve narrowed it down to a final six contestants: Animate, Axion, Eva D, Krug One, Lazed, Matalo, and Saas. They’re competing for an opening slot at the upcoming Goldrush Music Festival. Tickets are $10 dollars at the door and proceeds will go to a local charity.

11/4 – Sacha Robotti – Sloth Acid Tour @ Scarlet Room

Sacha Robotti, (no stage name, that’s the real deal!) is one of the fastest-rising stars in the tech house realm. The German-bred DJ developed a love for music at an early age and now he’s producing at a level well beyond his years. He released his first single in 2010 and joined the famed Dirtybird label in 2012. His smile is as infectious as his beats and his unique, innovative sound has created a subgenre of its own. As a key member of the Dirtybird fam, Sacha knows how to start a party–and keep it going all night long! He’s played at major festivals across the country like Lightning in a Bottle, EDC, Coachella and Burning Man just to name a few and now he’s taking his headlining tour, the SlothAcid Tour, on the road, making a stop in Phoenix this Saturday.
