UMF Announces Ultra Europe: Ultra Heads Across the Pond

Can’t stop, won’t stop. Ultra Music Festival is at it again, and this time they’re taking the party to Europe! UMF announced Ultra Europe which will take place July 12, 13, and 14 in Croatia.  With the announcement came the plans to keep Ultra Europe in Croatia for the next five years exclusively and with 60,000 or more people each year.

Set to take place along the coast of the gorgeous Adriatic, days 1 and 2 will be in the Puljad Stadium in the city of Split, while the final day will be on the island of Hvar at the Hotel Amfora Grand Beach Resort. “I am confident that the beautiful Adriatic Sea and Islands of the area will be a perfect setting for Ultra Europe and will attract many to come and experience all that both Ultra and Croatia have to offer,” director of Adria MM productions and Croatian partner/co-organizer Joe Basic said.

This event is not only going to be an exclusive Ultra event for the EU once Croatia is granted membership, but it’s also going to be a driving force for the Croatian economy as they’re expecting to produce over 20 million Euros for the Croatian economy.

Ultra Europe will not be the first UMF event to take place outside of the US, but it will be the first multi-day American EDM festival to take place overseas. It follows the expansion of Ultra Music Festival in the US as well; UMF 2013 will be the first EDM festival to place over two March weekends in Miami.

Since the first Ultra Music Festival in 1999, UMF has featured EDM’s biggest headliners as well as some crossover headline bands like M83, The Killers, and Empire of the Sun. This year’s festival was also the subject of the documentary Can You Feel It, a feature that played across the country in theatres and briefly online on UMFTV’s Youtube channel.
