Hardwell & X MAKJ “Countdown” Official Release

MAKJ, alongside Dutch phenomenon Hardwell, recently released one of the most anticipated tracks of the year, “Countdown,” which is out now on Revealed Recordings. Fresh off the release of his blistering electro-house original “Revolution” on Doorn Records, MAKJ quickly turns around an exhilarating new original in collaboration with the Holland-based star, Hardwell. Ever since “Countdown” was dropped during Hardwell’s acclaimed set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the track has been established as a peak-time secret weapon, finding its way into performances by Showtek, W&W, David Guetta, Nicky Romero and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

Backed up by a ticking countdown 10 days prior to release, the track has since grown a viral life of its very own, thanks to items like the teaser video, shot at the sold-out “Go Hardwell Or Go Home” event at the Hollywood Palladium in LA, which saw MAKJ sharing the stage with Hardwell for the first time.

“Countdown” sees MAKJ and Hardwell fostering an explosive new sound that has been tested and proven throughout this year. “Countdown” takes shape with a soft melody line that opens up to a lush chorus of synth strings on top of drums. A brief pause passes and the countdown ensues, raising anticipation for the drop and creating a strong sense of euphoria. Then the hard kicks and horn-like synth burst through with brute force taking the energy level to new heights. Following the main segment, it reaches a super charged climax as the second drop moves in with an added synth for full effect. The fact that “Countdown” has been one of the most buzzed about tracks over the past six months and earmarked as one of the biggest dancefloor bombs at TomorrowWorld is a testament to their signature sounds and impeccable productions skills.
