R3hab makes his way to the Release Pool at Talking Stick Resort this Saturday where he is going to make us all sweat with his original mixes and collaborations. However, before we get to see R3hab do his famous R3hab jump and drop his world-famous tracks, lets check out the skill that made him famous in the first place: remixing! Here are seven R3hab remixes that are sure to get you committed:
Calvin Harris & John Newman – Blame (R3hab Trap Remix)
Having crafted two mixes of this particular Calvin Harris track, it is clear that R3hab must have really acquired a taste for the sultry sound of John Newman’s voice and Calvin Harris’ beats. With this remix, R3hab takes the track to a whole other level by crafting a dirty trap beat to compliment the already sexy vocal track. What makes it even better is that this is not the usual R3hab sound; he’s created a trap song that he pulls off extremely well given his musical history. Check it out!
Bruno Mars – Locked Out of Heaven (R3hab After Hours Remix)
I am not a particularly huge fan of the original version of this song, but this very cool and collected remix of this song at first evokes images of 1970’s cool dudes, and blends in a dirty late night feel with the occasional series of snares. Imagine red velvet and low lit lights as this remix takes over your consciousness, but be prepared for the classic R3hab sound to drop into a frenzy-inducing musical storm.
Usher – Scream (R3hab Remix)
Scream was one of the biggest songs of 2012 from one of the biggest producers of all time, Usher. R3hab took it upon himself to craft a massive remix to an already massive song and proved a phenomenal effort. This track is huge and improves the danceability of a song that Usher proved was certainly danceable. We ay not get the opportunity to hear this come Saturday given the song is slightly older than the rest, but that doesn’t mean you can’t blast it here on your laptop!
Eva Simons – I Don’t Like You (R3hab Remix)
This classic track was remixed by R3hab back in 2012, but it would be the song that led to many future collaborations between R3hab and Eva Simons including their original track, “Unstoppable” in 2014. Eva Simons lead the song with her stunning vocals, but it is when R3hab inserts his infectious electro-house sound that the party factor really kicks in. Take a look at what started a beautiful friendship between these two musical talents.
Your Body is a Weapon – The Wombats (R3hab Remix)
This one is an especially cool remix given the fact that most of the time remixes are done on other electronic tracks or hip-hop/pop tracks. The original mix of this song is by an English indie rock band called The Wombats. Not everyone has the capability of blending electro with rock, but R3hab seamlessly blends the two very different genres, creating a drop that goes as hard as anything he’s created.
Rita Ora – I Will Never Let You Down (R3hab Remix)
This is one you are sure to have heard out in the nightclubs over the last year. It may not be as hard-hitting as a majority of other R3hab mixes, but this one provides us with a very melodic tune, showing that Fadil El Ghoul has much more diversity than he is given credit for. This Rita Ora song makes us all want to dance with our hands raised to the sky; it asks us to enjoy where we are and to never forget the moment that we’re in.
Calvin Harris & HAIM – Pray to God (R3hab Remix)
And so we will close out the countdown just as it began… with a Calvin Harris track. R3hab has made a number of Calvin Harris Remixes, but this one surpasses all others in my opinion. The original is a masterpiece of electro production and R3hab gives it the energy it deserves to become a sure-fire festival banger this year! Having just been uploaded to his Soundcloud page 5 days ago, Pray to God is one that you will certainly be hearing this Saturday at Release! Mark my words: YOU WILL NEED R3HAB!
