Oliver Heldens Previews the First Track Off Of His New Label Heldeep Records, Reveals Identity of Mysterious HI-LO

Based on the path that his career has taken, Oliver Heldens knows no other direction than up. The deep house sensation who just two years ago was a high school student in the Netherlands, is now the owner and operator of a brand new record label, Heldeep Records.

The first track off of his spankin’ new label is from the talented producer, HI-LO, which is actually an alias for Heldens himself! The track is entitled “Renegade Mastah” and uses samples from Wildchild’s “Renegade Master”. This new song is very emblematic of the future/deep house sound that Oliver Heldens has pioneered into the mainstream. However, the track resembles other future house artists more so than Oliver Heldens in my opinion. The song reminds me of a mix between Valentino Khan‘s “Deep Down Low” and Jauz‘s “Feel the Volume” with its deep metallic yawns and industrial clanks. It would make sense that Heldens would differentiate his styles between the two aliases, keeping a more sound musical identity between the two. Based on his HI-LO releases including “Crank It Up” released on Mad Decent, it would seem he’s going more deep house with his true name and future house with his recent moniker.

“Renegade Mastah” has received massive support from some of the biggest DJs in the industry including Kaskade, Jack U, and Martin Garrix.  You can expect to hear this one at Mad Decent Block Party on September 18 when Oliver Heldens takes his HI-LO signature to Rawhide. Pick up “Renegade Mastah” on July 20 via Heldeep Records!
