YetepSteve Aoki has been on a pop-punk kick recently. First he collaborated with Lincoln Park, and now Fall Out Boy. I might be a little too excited for this because FOB is my favorite band, but believe me when I say this track on “Neon Future” is epic.
Titled “Back To Earth,” the visionary music video is accompanied by an attractive balance of intense rock vocals and futuristic house beats. This is definitely something neither party could have created on their own, but that both sounds are heavily recognized.
I’ve already downloaded this song, jammed to it in the shower and danced to it in front of my mirror. If that’s not a sign of a grade A track, then I don’t know what is. The music video is a captivating story of an intergalactic scene in a forest with a damsel that isn’t too distressed. Shots of the punk princes and Aoki are scattered through the video to remind us that dream collabs do come true.
Keep on the look-out for more of your favorite middle school punk bands in Aoki’s upcoming songs. So far, he’s 2 for 2.
