YetepIt happens every so often that certain tracks deserve special attention, Especially those done by the oh so talented Porter Robinson. Remixing a Porter track is no easy task considering the young DJ/producer consistently puts out hits that are already flawless on their own, making an intimidating subject for any artist hoping to remix them. However, Washington-based downtempo duo ODESZA have proven themselves capable of such an undertaking with their latest release: a remix of “Divinity.”
The opening track for Worlds, “Divinity” itself is a powerful track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Choosing to have Odesza remix it was not only a brilliant choice, but an absolutely beautiful result. Utilizing their characteristic live drums and vocal chops, Odesza truly makes “Divinity” their own, using Amy Millan’s vocals to perfection.
Between this and the Mat Zo remix, Porter Robinson’s Worlds Remixes album is shaping up to be amazing. It will be released on Oct. 2 along with other remixes from the likes of Mat Zo, Chrome Sparks and Sleepy Tom.
