YetepWow. I can not get enough of this newest EP by San Francisco native, Woolymammoth. I follow Buygore on Soundcloud, among numerous other pages, and often times my news feed is over-saturated with all of the latest releases from all of the artists are dying for listens. However, by chance, I clicked on Tricks by Woolymammoth and I’ve never been happier with an accidental discovery.
Click play on this Soundcloud link and I guarantee you will be treated to the filthiest thing you’ve heard all day. The selection of tracks is dirty, its sexy, its deep, its heart-pounding, and all you can do is absorb it. Woolymammoth experiments with reverb, basslines, chimes, bells, and more to create a lively, yet ominously chilling portrait full of grime, sweat, and sex. Everything about the EP flows, its stylistically consistent, and each track maintains an identity of its own. From “butane” to “Best In It”, Tricks provides us with tracks that will constantly remind us why experimentation is essential to the evolution of the trap genre.

Stepping outside of this satisfyingly dark and disgustingly heavy world that Woolymammoth has created with his latest EP, this 19 year old producer from San Francisco has been producing experimental trap for the last year and is quickly becoming an essential asset to the genres evolution. Having dropped tracks via Mad Decent, Pantheon, and Courteous Fam prior to this release on Buygore, each passing day there more and more eyes are on Woolymammoth. The producer just wrapped up a tour in Australia, so I’m sure we can expect some N. American tour dates to be announced soon.
For now he teases a performance in Vegas alongside a recently announced Phoenix performer, Jackal, who will be here in February with the Twonk Di Nation tour alongside Brillz.
