It’s a bit strange for a DJ to let basically the entire audience into their show for free, but that didn’t stop Hardwell from creating an extravagantly long guest list for his performance in Mumbai. This spectacular charity concert, “The World’s Biggest Guest List” is proof that music truly does have the power to unite people.
This epic event was held on December 13th in the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai and strived to raise awareness about the lack of education available for young children in India. With over 125,000 fans registering to attend this historical event, it has been deemed as a revolution of live entertainment in India. “The World’s Biggest Guest List” is planning to extend to other countries as an effective philanthropic effort.

Thanks to our humble Hardwell, charity organization Magicbus- along with Anna Agency CEO Anna Knaup and United Welfare Trust founder Shailendra Singh- was determined to provide educational aid for 3,000 underprivileged children and support them from age 8 to 18. Because of the donations and love from sponsors and fans (or PLUR, as some might say), the profits from Hardwell’s performance are enough to support a whopping 18,000 children through the Indian education system.
“The World’s Biggest Guest List” is the first charity event of this magnitude to involve an electronic DJ, and as we could have predicted, it was an overwhelming success! Hardwell used the hashtag #HardwellGuestlist on social media, and tweeted that his Mumbai madness was one of the biggest moments in his life.

The crowd raved all night with the Dutch dance music mastermind, and over 10 million people tuned in via the Hotstar livestream from nearly 80 countries around the globe. Hardwell kicked off the night by dropping “Young Again,” and the crowd instantly went insane.

Hardwell used his popularity and his astounding talent to not only deliver a kick-ass set in Mumbai, but to donate all the show’s proceeds to the uneducated children of India. This was a big win for everyone involved, and a bright beam of light in the recent darkness our World has suffered from. It’s safe to say that this won’t be the last EDM charity concert we’ll see. Which DJ will become a philanthropist next?
