If you do not know about Zedd and Ke$ha’s amazing song, “True Colors,” please do yourself a favor and listen to this song, and catch up with the rest of society.
This song is more than just a beautiful mix of sounds and vocals. It’s a symbolic song, especially for Ke$ha. It showed Kesha’s “True Colors” regarding her strength and her struggles that she has recently experienced in the music industry. Zedd reached out to Ke$ha when he tweeted on February 22 that he would love to do a collab with her. He expressed in his tweet that he is very sorry about the predicament she was in regarding her sexual abuse during her music career. The friendship boomed after that tweet. Ke$ha was even a guest performer for Zedd for Coachella! Weeks later, “True Colors” was released, hitting the top of charts, and since, Zedd’s Twitter account is steaming hot with new ideas.
Who would have thought that a kind outreach to another hurting artist via twitter would result in producing such a wonderful song. Zedd is onto something… It seems that Zedd’s tweeting skills may help his career progress even more than he thought, and in a much different direction.
Zedd’s Twitter account is lit with various artists tweeting to him, wanting to do collabs. Zedd is saying “YES” to everyone that wants to do a collab. Various artists include Beyonce, Rihanna, Macklemore, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, Deadmau5, and hundreds more. Did I say hundreds? The answer is “YES!”
Will he end up doing all these collabs with all these various artists? Possibly? Hopefully! I do not underestimate Zedd at all. I believe that the rest of 2016-2017 will be full of many of different collaborations with various artists from various genres. We all know that EDM is progressing towards mainstream. Is Zedd going to seal the deal on mainstream EDM? We will see.
For all of us old EDM fans, we are going to see an even more progressive movement towards mainstream EDM if Zedd follows through on all of his collabs. Come on, even Pop stars like Justin Beiberand Katy Perry already see the progressive movement in EDM, hence why they already are working with other top DJ names. Everyone is jumping on this EDM train and it now begins with Zedd. Keep a lookout for Zedd’s new tracks. Keep a look out for Zedd’s Twitter also! It looks like Zedd’s Twitter account is more lit than his Tinder with all these new musical relationships that may unfold.
