Champagne Drip – Poseidon EP

The fresh talent that has appeared on UZ’s very own label Quality Goods this year has been quite astounding, and the latest artist to bring out their own solo collection is Champagne Drip, an act who has been in the game for some time under other alias.

He now drops the musically and creatively intense “Poseidon” EP, a foray into multiple styles that is finished off with clean, sharp production. “Return Harbor” is the first to hit your ears, and this one builds gradually, hooking you in with its drifting melody at the start. Before you have time to think, “Ascension” strikes, this one showing a sudden change in pace, and presenting some tightly knit drum beats. Its title track is a rhythmical explosion, before “Prometheus” ends on a darker, weighty note.
