YetepDVBBS (“dubs”) is a Canadian duo made up of brothers Chris and Alex van den Hoef. They’ve been together since 2012 when they released their first EP, Initio. You probably know them best, though, from their international hit “Tsunami” with Borgeous. Their follow-up track “Stampede” with Borgeous and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike was just as popular; both tracks hit #1 on the Beatport charts. Since then they’ve hit shows around the globe and released a number of singles, but it’s their latest EP, Beautiful Disaster, that really demonstrates their growth as artists.
The 6-track EP features the likes of Juicy J, Stella Rio, Gia Koka and Ramriddlz. There’s a variety to the songs that keeps it from falling into any one genre. “Doja (No Lie)” ft. Ramriddlz has groovy deep-house sounds while “Moonrock” with Juicy J is a bass-ridden, rap centered banger and “Not Going Home” is an indie-electro piece led by soft female vocals. Beautiful Disaster breaks the mold for DVBBS. When asked about the EP, the duo says, “This whole world exists in this sacred balance of ups and downs, positives and negatives, all coming together; a beautiful disaster.”
The drop of this EP finds them at the beginning of another tour and what is sure to be a huge 2017 for these two!
