YetepDatsik has proved himself to be one of the best dubstep artists in the scene over the years. In 2009 alone, he had over 7 number one releases on Beatport, and vinyl sales through the roof on other sites such as Chemical Records, Red-Eye and Juno. He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in edm, and has done remixes for The Crystal Method, Freestylers, Bassnectar, Noisia, Diplo, and many more.
This Wednesday the 22nd, Datsik will be making a stop on his Ninja Nation Tour in Tuscon at the Rialto Theatre. For his tour, Datsik’s bringing along Virtual Riot and Crizzly, and is introducing a new stage production called ‘The Shotgun’ with shaolin bass from the infamous ‘PK Sound.’
In honor of the Ninja Nation Tour, I decided to feature a track off of Datsik’s latest EP for Relentless Beat of the week, ‘Sensei.’ The song is also the EP’s title, and i thought the most fitting for the theme of his tour. ‘Sensei’ shows the world he has mastered the craft of dubstep production while continuing to evolve with each and every release. The track’s classical instrumentation takes you straight to Japan and is followed by a hard hitting dub drop. I think ‘Sensei’ sets the tone for Datsik’s Ninja Nation tour perfectly, so take a listen and head over to Tuscon on Wednesday to witness Datsik’s combo of Japanese ninja’s and dubstep.
