YetepI’ll be honest, I never loved techno until I heard “Sueno” by Phoenix-based artists Michael Hooker and Sean Watson. The progressive techno beat goes deeper and takes listeners on a lucid journey through sound in this beautiful dystopian track. The 8-minute masterpiece maintains a heavy hitting bassline along with added soundbites and synths during its long progressive buildup, but the vocals are what really take “Sueño” to another level. They sound dark and eerie and really helps to create a visual image for listeners. Check it out below.
Michael Hooker is no novice when it comes to his craft. Along with being an excellent music producer and DJ, he is also the founder of Re: Sound Music. The label continuously achieves Top 100 chart positions on Beatport and has gained support from artists like Lane 8 and Above & Beyond. Hooker also hosts a weekly “Hooked” radio podcast where he throws fresh beats every week. Both Hooker and Watson are popular among RBDeep lineups and have opened for acts like Sacha Robotti and Justin Martin. Check out “Sueño” and make sure to come early to shows to support the locals that make our Arizona scene so special.
