YetepBass music master NGHTMRE has been gravitating toward something a little different as of late. His recent Magic Hour EP on Diplo’s Mad Decent label features two collaborations with the charismatic New Orleans-based rapper Pell, proving he can pull off Hip Hop as well as he can mainstage bangers. “Swiss” is a perfect party starter, while “Lights Low” is moodier, with a lo-fi sound. Both tracks come together nicely to form one of NGHTMRE’s most interesting works to date.
This week’s Watch it Wednesday is the accompanying music video for the dual tracks, “Lights Low” and “Swiss.” Check it out below.
NGHTMRE & Pell – Swiss / Lights Low (Official Music video)
This trippy video features both tracks from the Magic Hour EP depicted in a futuristic setting in Japan. While the fusion of hip-hop and bass music is a trend in the scene lately, “Swiss” and “Lights Low” are anything but cookie cutter. Each track is crafted with sophistication and the unique soundscapes each artist brings to the table. The two-part music video is also a unique approach, but it brings something refreshingly different to the table. Through a lens of trippy simulations and glowing colors, viewers are transported to Japan in this aesthetically pleasing video with imagery of pink moss and a snowcapped Mount Fuji off in the distance.
Make sure you’re there when NGHTMRE drops these new releases at Bassrush Massive Arizona on Saturday, August 25. Get more info, see the full lineup, and purchase tickets here.
