DJ to Watch: Baaku

It’s a great day when you stumble on some fresh electronica and today we have a kid who is so new he doesn’t even have a scrollbar on his Soundcloud. Shout out to Pegboard Nerds for bringing this new artist’s to the forefront of my feed, they clearly know talent when they hear it.

The song was his latest release of Animal Collective’s “My Girl” and from first listen I was getting Illenium vibes to the max. It is brooding with emotive future bass and light-hearted energy in the lyrics and build up. It’s a wickedly exciting track and as it’s only his second release, we are clearly in the midst of a natural born star-check it out below.

Diving deeper into who this mysterious I found out I’m not the only fan of this up and comer. Joining Alison Wonderland on her North American Tour Awak, Baaku alongside Chet Porter will be getting the crowd warmed up. This is a pretty epic accomplishment for such a newbie.

It’s our job to keep you guys informed of the best and brightest in the scene and Baaku is an absolute must-hear. He may be today’s DJ to Watch but tomorrow he will be your new favorite artist.
