YetepAll of 2018, Wakaan was one of the heaviest players in the bass world. This year, however, the freeform bass label is kicking off 2019 with something a little more relaxed.
Wakaan’s first release of the year comes in the form of some downtempo magic, by none other than label head, Liquid Stranger. “Burn Like Sun” is a journey through the world of melodic dubstep, sprinkled with all the eccentricities of the freeform genre that Liquid is leading.
Featuring Leah Culver, “Burn Like Sun” takes off with beautiful vocals that are bound to make even the most aggressive bass fans tear up a little. The track is laden with symphonic flares and glitchy breakdowns, making it not quite like your average melodic song. Still, “Burn Like Sun” presents a different sound for Wakaan; it seems the label really can do it all.
