YetepThe original “Out of Love” by Alessia Cara is a somber, heartfelt ballad and a real tear-jerker. The first time I listened to it I was instantly brought back to my high school days, flustered with memories of my first real break-up. The melancholy tone of the track is powerful, and when it comes to music you can’t ask for much more than that, right? Well, actually you can. When genius DJ and producer Devault got his hands on this track, he completely rethought “Out of Love” and added even more meaning to the track.
Devault keeps the raw emotion of the original “Out of Love,” while completely transforming the track into a danceable, crowd moving work of art. Devault adds beautiful ivory instruments, harmonious fades, and a progressive bassline to the track, making it sound completely different from the original. Both versions of the track are beautiful in their own unique way. If you’re a fan of tracks like this, I highly suggest checking out Kasbo’s cry / dance mixtape series, don’t be surprised if you see “Out of Love” on the next release in the series.
Devault is bringing his passionate sound to Phoenix Lights in just a few weeks! Grab last-minute tickets here.
