YetepAs EDM continues to go punk, it’s no surprise that many DJs have taken a crack at remixes and originals alike. DJs look back to take their roots in rock, metal, punk and allow it to trickle into their work as producers. Now Sub Focus releases his remix of Bring Me The Horizon’s “mother tongue.” Born Nicolaas Douwma first teased the remix on Twitter with a video, giving his own drum and bass flare to the group’s track during one of his sets. Released later that week, the remix just might be a new anthem for the fans of both genres. The smooth lead vocals rising slowly to a DnB crescendo is enough to leave goosebumps on every listener. Listen on repeat below.
Bring Me The Horizon – Mother Tongue (Sub Focus Remix)
Fans were amazed when Bring Me The Horizon took their own step into EDM with album amo, released earlier this year. The two genres have become more, including more names, more styles, and a chance to put unique spins on each track. Sub Focus’ remix is another welcome addition to a music scene that has welcomed all styles since it’s creation. Since EDC, Douwma has been touring the UK and been slow to release new music, giving us only one song a year since 2013. We can be hopeful that with this new track there will be more to come from this drum and bass icon.
