YetepOld school dubstep and bass music trailblazer Patrick Megeath, aka Dirt Monkey, has been serving us unique wonky sounds since 2010. Nine years in the making and today we have an artist that keeps bass music interesting and uplifting even with the deepest of wubs. Hearing tracks like “Colossal” with PEEKABOO and “Warp Drive” with Subtronics, Dirt Monkey’s sound bends the ears in ways we never thought they could. He’s gained support from the likes of Rusko, Excision, Zeds Dead, and so much more while taking over some of the largest stages like EDC, Red Rocks, and Lost Lands. His momentum is unrelenting and with his latest release, we see an even more intriguing experimentation pulling bits and pieces from different genres. Out now on 19K, listen to “Baile Bounce” below.
The track starts out with some strong wonky bass vibes that we know and love from Megeath, but quickly takes on a House-y feel as the song progresses. Shakers and cowbells paired with high pitched vocals will have us bass heads trying to shuffle all night long. It ebbs and flows in a steamy glitter before a pounding drop will leave the room shaking from everyone’s bounce.
Dirt Monkey’s Primatology World Tour is making a stop in Phoenix on November 16th. Grab tickets fast to bounce all night with Conrank, Zia, and of course, the one and only, Dirt Monkey.
