YetepFlume has had quite a year, after ending his long musical hiatus with a spontaneous mixtape release in March, he has continued to gift fans a handful of beautiful singles all summer long. Among these hits are “Friends,” “Let You Know,” “Quits,” and now “Rushing Back.” The highly anticipated track was debuted by the Australian producer at Lollapalooza this past August and had the crowd “Rushing Back” to excitement for what Flume has to come. The dreamy combination of his glitchy production and angelic vocals by past collaborator Vera Blue, who has been singing live alongside Flume at his recent shows, is captivating and gives listeners a sense of nostalgia to his older music. You can listen to the new end-of-summer hit, “Rushing Back”, below.
Flume’s attention to detail on this one is hard to miss. “Rushing Back” is full of his classic synths, distorted snares, and high-pitched vocals, which Vera Blue’s vocals float over harmonically. Listen closely and you will hear touches of flute throughout the track adding to the uniqueness of his production. With this release, Flume announced a series of show stops around Europe, so fingers crossed that an American tour is around the corner, too. Until then we will be awaiting the next breathtaking Flume release and playing “Rushing Back” on repeat.
