YetepNuKid is the new kid ruling the g-house block. He’s gained well-deserved recognition from artists like Tchami, Malaa, Laidback Luke, Tommy Trash, Destructo and many more. In addition, he’s been crowned the winner of Insomniac’s Discovery Project, which has propelled him forward onto bigger and better stages across the world. His grimy g-house has drawn the attention of labels like Universal, Def Jam Recordings, and most recently Night Bass, on which NuKid has released his three-track EP Aftermath. Listen below.
“Enemy” contains inexplicably familiar vocals and has already made its way into various house mixes for its rhythmic and catchy bassline that you can’t help but move your body to. The title track, “Aftermath,” is noticeably darker, but carries an energetic beat and fun, high-pitched sounds. The final track, “Money Talks,” feels sinister in the sounds that echo and weave through the tempo. As a whole and as three separate parts, the Aftermath EP fits nicely in the Night Bass family because it elicits grooving and dancing from the listener while also being a shade or two darker than typical house music. NuKid will be bringing his shadowy sound to Shady Park on November 30th. Get your tickets here.
