YetepZack Kemp, the man behind the Dubstep alias, Trolley Snatcha, has been producing off and on for years, although he goes through quiet periods without releasing any new music, only to reappear when he’s feeling inspired, to the excitement of many die-hard fans. The Northampton-born producer has risen through the ranks to become one of the biggest names in the UK Bass scene. He’s also our pick for this week’s DJ to Watch.
Kemp began his career in music early on, making hip-hop and drum n’ bass in his teenage years. Dubstep began gaining prominence during this time and piqued his interest. Captivated by the positive energy that encapsulated the scene, Kemp began producing in the realm of 140bpm and quickly discovered where his passion lies.
The producer garnered attention with his very first release, “The Future,” released on Caspa’s Dub Police imprint in 2009. The track immediately put his name on the map, as it became a staple in Bass sets everywhere.
Widely known today across the UK for his high-octane take on Dubstep, Kemp has released on esteemed labels like Never Say Die’s Black Label, Dub Police, and Firepower Records. His music continues to win over fans across the globe, with hard-hitting tracks like his 2017 collaboration with fellow bass producer, Funtcase, and his 2017 Get Physical EP.
Last month, the bass producer hinted at new music on the horizon for 2020. We can hardly wait what to see what’s in store. In the meantime, Trolley Snatcha will be at Shady Park on Friday, April 10th. Grab your tickets here.
