YetepL.A.-based artist/producer Gryffin returns with his first single in three months titled “Cry” in collaboration with the iconic vocalist, John Martin. Released via Darkroom Records, the track is a true testament of Gryffin’s prodigious ability to synthesize evocative songwriting with intricate yet power-packed production to create a timeless record. The song also comes with an official video featuring both artists performing.
Originally debuted back in April during the Digital Mirage virtual music festival, “Cry” marks the ushering of a new era for Gryffin’s rapidly-growing artist project as mentioned on his socials before announcing the record. Known for his iconic work with Swedish House Mafia (“Don’t You Worry Child” & “Save The World”), Avicii (Fade into Darkness) Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash (“Reload”), and Martin Garrix (“Now That I’ve Found You”) amongst many others, John Martin delivers a breathtaking performance that brings the song’s incredible writing to life.
“Cry” is Gryffin’s second single since the release of his 2019 full-length debut, Gravity, with his first, “Hold You Tonight” alongside Chris Lane, back in April. Arriving last October and soon reaching #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, the album includes hit singles like “Remember” ft. ZOHARA (a track that shot to #1 on Dance radio), “OMG” (a #16 hit on the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, featuring Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen), “Body Back” ft. Maia Wright (#16 hit on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart), and “All You Need to Know” by Gryffin with SLANDER ft. Calle Lehmann (a #12 hit on the Hot Dance/Electronic chart). With its incredible lineup of collaborators and guest artists, Gravity also features “Hurt People” (a collaboration with singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc, co-written by Bastille frontman Dan Smith) and “Baggage” by Gryffin with Gorgon City ft. AlunaGeorge.
