Adventure Club Throwback Set at Decadence AZ: Get Ready for the Nostalgia Wave to Hit
Acclaimed Norway-born, Los Angeles-based musician, songwriter and producer, Lido released his new single “Layaway” via all digital and streaming platforms. Boasting an array of R&B and electronic inspired beats, the mellow-tempoed track marks the fourth single to release off of Lido’s forthcoming, highly anticipated sophomore effort PEDER, set to release on September 18th through Because Music. “Layaway” features backup vocals by THEY and extra production by Sam Gellaitry and Brasstracks.
“Layaway” ties into a larger audio-visual storyline layered throughout the upcoming album, which inspired Lido to write his first children’s book titled “A Boy In Space.” Following the story of Peder, a young boy who was born on a spaceship without music, the album takes listeners on a creative listening journey. Peder stumbles upon a pirate radio station and discovers music for the first time while landing on a deserted planet. Finding musical instruments along his journey, Peder sets forth to recreate music with the tools available to him, and evolves along the way. The upcoming book will mark the multi-instrumentalist’s official debut as an author, and is set to release later this fall.
Adding further depth to the album’s theme, “Layaway” paints Lido’s colorful and unique approach to storytelling. PEDER not only symbolizes Lido’s personal relationship to music as he personally wrote it, but is set to deliver his signature artful alternative production punctuated by sci-fi flourishes, eloquent song craft, and fluttering pop hooks.
PEDER will feature a number of acclaimed guest collaborators including JoJo, Col3trane, Brandon Arreaga (of PRETTYMUCH), Ebenezer, Heavy Mellow (producer for Juice WRLD, Gunna, etc.), Santell and Mulherin. Recently, Lido released SpaceFM, a special pirate radio mix delivered to fans as a surprise Easter egg. Coinciding with the album’s overall concept, the mix represents the pivotal part of the story where Peder hears music for the first time. Known for taking his creative process to new heights, Lido created SpaceFM as a way to give fans a one-of-a-kind listening experience. This special Lido mix can be found on the website 1532space.fm. Raking in over 1-million listeners per month on Spotify, Lido’s trajectory as a solo artist continues to climb. He’s amassed a significant fanbase, and continues to collaborate with a long list of modern superstars including Halsey, Chance The Rapper, Banks, Jaden Smith, JoJo and Skrillex to name a few.
