YetepIn 2000, DJ Spiller released the ultimate 70’s-inspired track, “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)” ft. Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Almost two decades later, platinum-selling producer Purple Disco Machine and longtime collaborator Lorenz Rhode have re-imagined the track into something fresh via Defected Records.
The new “Groovejet” has been teased at parties across the globe this summer, and it’s no question why; the rework ignites the same intense dance floor energy as the DJ Spiller original. Still highlighting the original vocals from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Purple Disco Machine and Lorenz add vibrant synths, punchy drums, and a filtered bassline, resulting in a fresh take that grabs your attention from the get-go.
Given the seal of approval from DJ Spiller and Sophie themselves, this modern remix pays respect to a classic, while bringing it new life.
Purple Disco Machine will be bringing his groovy vibes to this year’s Decadence Arizona, taking place December 30th and 31st at Rawhide Event Center in Chandler. You can see the full lineup and purchase tickets here!
