Eli & Fur have an unwavering passion for producing, songwriting and performing. It’s apparent in all that they do. Together, the London-based duo have made a name for themselves in the house and techno scene. Their tracks are emotive and mesmerizing in a way that keeps you on the dance floor. That’s surely what fans will be doing this weekend when Eli & Fur take the stage at Under Construction. We had the chance to ask them a few questions ahead of their performance, check it out below!
We really enjoyed your last single, “My Shadow.” What was the creative process behind making that one?
That one came about pretty quickly! We worked with Neave Applebaum on this and just felt like it was slightly more pop feeling but just went with it as it felt right. We are always growing and experimenting with our sound so it was nice to see a positive reaction from people.
You released your debut album last summer, Found in the Wild. It was amazing! How did the COVID-19 quarantines influence your process, if at all?
Quarantine was pretty helpful in regards to locking ourselves away and just making a lot of music, and finishing it! For us, finishing songs has always been the hardest part. Looking back it was a very focused time, we worked remotely, Eli was in LA and I was in Sussex with my parents. we would just bounce projects back and forth.
You guys bring such a unique sound to the scene. How would you describe it to someone who’s just discovering Eli & Fur?
It’s a fusion of our love for house music and our stories we tell through the lyrics and melodies.
Are you guys working on any new projects at the moment?
Always! Lots of exciting things in the pipeline, we are working a lot on our live set at the moment. And wrapping up a new EP!
You have a busy tour schedule this summer. How does it feel to be traveling again? Are there any stops you’re particularly excited about?
Eli has been touring lots more than myself recently as I suffer with Chronic pain (Fibromyalgia) . It’s been hard not being able to tour the way I used to but I have been in the studio focusing on music. The summer is very busy and I will be joining her at as many shows as I can! Ibiza being open again is very exciting as it really is like nowhere else! Also our first Australia tour this year has been a long time coming.
Beyond tour, what are your goals for the rest of the year?
Our goals are to keep growing! To reach more and more people. We are focusing on our label NYX this year and have found some very talented up and coming producers releasing with us.
We are so excited to welcome you back to Arizona as part of Chris Lake and Fisher’s Under Construction show! What should fans expect from your set?
Expect energy, emotion and most of all fun. We can’t wait.
