Remix Recall: ‘So High’ – Hannah Wants & ARA (Leonardo Gonnelli Remix)

This week’s Remix Recall we’re traveling all the way to Florence, Italy with the iconic Leonardo Gonnelli! Known as a maestro in the Italian house scene, Leonardo Gonnelli has been expanding the horizons of both house and techno since the early 2000s. Starting off with a heavy influence from both 90s acid-house and the Detroit techno scene, he has recently found himself deep in the world of minimal tech house.

From collaborating with Spain’s mega duo Chus & Ceballos to recently being seen alongside British house star Hannah Wants, Leonardo has worked alongside some of the industry’s finest. This March, Leonardo joined Hannah Wants on her hometown stop in Birmingham for the What Hannah Wants tour where fans got to see first-hand how well these two artists blend. After the tour stop, Leonardo has recently made his debut on Hannah Wants Etiquette imprint with a remix of her track “So High” featuring ARA.

This is an unreal tech house tune! Keeping the hypnotic vocals of singer-songwriter ARA and speeding up the infectious bassline gives this track a whole new kind of energy. The addition of some fun bleeps and bloops makes this remix entertaining to listen to all throughout. Always creating high quality tracks, it is no surprise Leonardo took “So High” even higher! Luckily, this is only the beginning from these two. Leonardo Gonnelli and Hannah Wants are expected to release their first-ever official collaboration “Let Us Pray” this May 13th!

Hannah Wants will be alongside Big Gigantic for Dreamglow at the Balloon Museum Park and afterwards headlining the SOMOS afterparty at Salt Yard West!
