YetepIt was New York’s dance floor that brought Sam Walker and Gavin Royce together nearly two decades ago; after years of meeting on the floor, the long-time friends decided in 2011 to join forces and produce music as Walker & Royce. Having spent years immersed in the dance scene, the duo developed a sixth sense for what gets the floor dancing. Throughout the years Walker & Royce have solidified their unique sound; the indie dance and deep house sounds that permeated their earlier work eventually evolved into their recognizable sound today—quirky accents, glitchy synths, and thumping basslines.
In 2016, the duo joined the ranks of the legendary Claude VonStroke’s imprint Dirtybird Records, releasing a handful of one-of-a-kind house tracks with the label. Walker & Royce’s newest single sees the duo return to Dirtybird for a slinky, sultry house record titled “Feel The Vibe.” With its groovy bassline, playful vocal samples, and bass-driven funk, “Feel The Vibe” will have you sinking to the floor.
