YetepFlume has always been known as an artist that is full of unexpected surprises. Earlier this year, he surprised us with the 10-track mixtape Things Don’t Always Go The Way You Plan, a collection of unreleased tracks from 2012 to 2021 that he uncovered after restoring his old laptop. This weekend he’s done it again! Flume’s latest offering Arrived Anxious, Left Bored is his second surprise mixtape of the year and it offers 10 more unreleased tracks that have been miraculously recovered.
Similar to TDAGTWYP, the new mixtape has tracks that were originally created in an almost decade-long timespan beginning in the year 2015. Each track is once again labeled with the final export year that it was finalized giving us a quick glimpse of which era we will be listening to. The oldest track “n1cevib3 1.3” reminds listeners of the melodic Skin era of Flume while other tracks like “No Other 1.2.2” have a more recent Palaces vibe.
In Flume’s recent Instagram post, he shared –
“Ten tracks, that never found a home, but I felt like they deserved a place in the world. I hope they make you feel something.”
These Flume archives are full of magic. Just when fans thought tracks like “Road To Japan” were long gone, here we are getting blessed with them five years later. Flume has yet to announce that the time capsule is officially closed so hopefully there are some more hidden gems left to uncover.
