YetepChicago electronic duo Louis The Child are headed back to the desert this Saturday for Goldrush: Sonoran Skies! Freddy and Robby will be bringing one of their legendary playground sets to the Phoenix Raceway, and we could not be more excited about it! To get you ready, this week’s Remix Recall is a little refresher on some of my personal favorite Louis The Child remixes. Check them out below!
“Blasé” – Ty Dolla $ign feat. Future & Rae Sremmurd (Louis The Child Remix)
It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t start this off with their iconic “Blasé” remix. If you know Louis The Child, you know this signature bass drop. This remix is one of their forever bangers that completely takes over the crowd during their live performances. It also earned them a position on Run The Trap’s Top 50 Future Bass Songs Of The Decade.
“Genghis Khan” – Miike Snow (Louis The Child Remix)
If I could live inside of a song, it would be this one. Pure bliss and the ideal fusion of their distinctive future bass and chill trap sound. This remix was released shortly after “Blasé,” helping cement Louis The Child’s career as top producers. A masterpiece of subtle bass kicks and smooth melodies.
“Body Gold” – Oh Wonder (Louis The Child Remix)
Louis The Child are experts when it comes to creating timeless tracks. This stunning future bass remix came out almost a decade ago, and it still has listeners melting. It’s dreamy and groovy in all the right places. Plus, who isn’t a sucker for some good vocal chops?
“Compass” – Zella Day (Louis The Child Remix)
Nostalgia in its purest form. I listen to this remix, and suddenly I’m transported into a realm of perpetual happiness. This remix calms the mind and moves the body while the lyrics touch your soul.
“Broken Record” – Soy Sauce feat. Joni Fatora (Louis The Child Remix)
This remix is definitely recognized as one of their signature tracks. Lighthearted and positive, it makes you want to twirl around the dance floor with your best friend. Louis The Child always knows how to put a dance-worthy spin on soft indie records.
“Paris” – Magic Man (Louis The Child Remix)
They constantly bring an arms-wide open wide vibe. You really can’t help but feel good when you listen to Louis The Child. Their bouncy sound design will always be cherished and this remix was one of the very first of theirs.
“All Night” – Chance The Rapper (Louis The Child Remix)
I had to close it off with this one! One of the strongest EDM Chance The Rapper remixes to date, it features a blend of their unique wobbly synths and perfect percussion. One of the most notable remixes from their experimental remix phase, which will always be missed.
Louis The Child’s mission has always been to “create music that makes people happy.” But since their inception in 2013, they have accomplished much more than just that. They give their followers a sense of love, a little less loneliness, and a sense of community that is hard to find these days. Their live performances truly feel like a spiritual cleansing, so if there is one set you shouldn’t miss this weekend, it’s definitely their playground set at Goldrush: Sonoran Skies. Louis The Child’s playground sets are freestyle DJ sets where they play whatever they want, and they’re always full of surprises and usually a lot of unreleased bangers.
