I have never followed an EDM song’s release pattern as closely as the new song by ALLEYCVT. “F****** Love You” is dedicated to Alley’s fans and their loyal attendance at shows. ALLEYCVT recently completed The Planet Supersonic Tour, the first headlining tour of her career. She also shared on an Instagram story post that she has only been playing live shows for around a year. This absolutely FLOORED me, as ALLEYCVT sets are mind-blowing and a one-of-a-kind experience. In 2024, she continues her domination of the festival circuit, as well as having headlining shows along the way.
I first heard this song previewed at the Tempe stop of The Planet Supersonic Tour on November 11th, 2023 and was BLOWN AWAY. I was well-aware of her existing discography and was very excited to hear a preview of what she was working on. The song was an immediate crowd favorite, leaving us all in anticipation over the song’s projected release date. Most recently, I saw this song performed at HB Social Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. This was the most structured and best-sounding preview of the single thus far and had both sides of the rail slamming it onto the venue floor. The 360 nature of the set only added to the notoriety and intensity of this live preview track. It was neat to see the little tweaks made to the song with each thrilling performance.
“F****** Love You” was officially released on March 13th and it sounds AMAZING. However, something feels different right away. ALLEYCVT’s music usually helps to keep me grounded and fully immersed in the present moment, or gets me really pumped and motivated for the bright future that lies ahead. In this case, “F****** Love You” brings these out as well, but with an added sense of nostalgia for bygone days. Perhaps the multi-state journey to see my favorite artist perform has added extra sentiment to this release. “F****** Love You” starts out with a drum beat and a beautiful, pleasant ticking that gradually reels us into the rest of the song. A digital wave of sound reminiscent of the 80s rises into frame, as the song begins to grow louder. Soft, subtle vocal effects, bass, and tight drums build us up to the first drop.
“I think I f****** love you,” declares ALLEYCVT as the beat drops, accompanied by wonky bass, and a harmonious digital rising effect. Scratches and reversals can also be found throughout the song’s runtime. The song reaches a bridge around the halfway point that contains pounding drums and a cool melody that lead us into another drop.
“I NEVER FELT LIKE THIS” shouts Alley over shooting, proverbial lasers, multiple layers of bass, and several beat switches. Drums pummel us all the way down as the bass dances around the other song elements in a heavy display of grace. The bass becomes gargantuan by the end of the song, bringing us back to the nostalgic feelings provided to us by the introduction.
This is some of ALLEYCVT’s best work and makes me very excited for her future events and releases. I really enjoyed the unique journey that this song and I took together through three states and four sets. Add this one to your favorite playlist immediately. ALLEYCVT is currently scheduled to perform on Day Two of PHXLIGHTS: Supernova on Saturday March 30th, as well as at Gentle Ben’s in Tucson, AZ on April 12th and a headlining clockwise 360 show at Revel in Albuquerque, NM on April 13th.
