Levity’s Electrifying Debut EP ‘Escapism, Vol. 1’ Takes Us on a Bass-Heavy Journey

In just a few years, breakout bass trio Levity—featuring Chicago’s John Hauldren, Los Angeles’s PJ Carberry, and Minnesota’s Josh Tarum—have become a beloved staple in the dance music scene. They’re known for their dynamic bass remixes, distinctive genre-bending sound, and upbeat live performances. The trio has just released their highly anticipated seven-track debut EP, Escapism, Vol. 1! The EP is out now via Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint.

Since their inception, Levity’s journey has been abundant with full-circle moments. After their 360° breakthrough set at Electric Forest 2023, the trio swiftly spread all across the United States’ festival circuit and have now sold out their first headline tour, the Full Circle Tour. Escapism, Vol. 1, takes us on this remarkable journey, and listening from start to finish helps fully immerse us. The lead cut, “Escape,” draws us into their world filled by technicolor synth melodies and wobbling bass. Tracks like “Ignition” and “Chill” with ProbCause pull us in even deeper. Known hit tracks like “Flip It” and “ONE FOR YOU” featuring ALLEYCVT shine brightly on the EP, building us up to the trap rhythms of “JADED.” The closing track, “Reawakening,” then gently brings us back to reality from our bass-heavy reverie.

“This has been the most fulfilling thing we’ve done in our lives, our first Concept EP! We wanted to create a project that entered you into a colorful world that you could escape to, away from any problems in the world or in your life! We left Easter eggs around too, some of which will grow into something bigger down the line… This is our first exploration into this concept and world, and we can’t wait to explore it more sometime, but for now, we hope you enjoy diving into Escapism, Vol. 1.”
