YetepThere are so many reasons why we love the month of October. We enjoy the cooler weather, spooky costumes, pumpkin spice, and of course, RL Grime‘s legendary Halloween mixtapes. Since first debuting the fun and frightful mixes back in 2012, RL Grime’s Halloween mixtapes have become a known staple in the electronic music community. Stirring his signature cauldron full of trap, hip-hop, and electronic music, each year RL Grime creates a dark and atmospheric vibe perfect for any eerie night. This year we have reached RL Grime’s 13th and final edition, Halloween XIII: The End.
Halloween XIII: The End marks the conclusion of one of the industry’s most iconic mixtape series. Each year RL Grime has treated us with mixes that have become increasingly more experimental. They always include exclusive tracks, remixes, and collaborations that showcase RL Grime’s signature heavy basslines and intricate production techniques. The start of every mix has always been led by a prologue from an illustrious character. Past editions have had everyone from SHAQ to Goosebumps author RL Stine. This year, beloved actor Jack Black takes the honors to welcome everyone to the journey they are about to embark on. It’s a journey through eerie soundscapes and high-energy drops, highlighting IDs from artists like ISOxo, LYNY, Control Freak, WINK, MPH, Odd Language, Vari, Eliminate, and so many more. It’s a thrilling listen from start to finish and a phenomenal end to an incredible era.
We can’t wait to find out what else RL Grime has in store for us this year. Luckily, we only have to wait six more weeks! On Saturday, December 14th, RL Grime will take over the Clubhouse at Maya in Scottsdale, Arizona! RL Grime is true pioneer and this is a set you don’t want to miss! Get more info and grab your tickets here.
