YetepThis week has been one for the UK artists. With a seemingly endless stream of new music and a wide variety of sounds coming from across the pond, UK artists have dominated the dubstep and bass releases this week. Many of the new releases walk the line, are the drum and bass, dubstep, or something entirely different.
Our first release of the week comes from an artist who is the perfect example of the fusion between dub and drum and bass. Alix Perez has made headlines around the world thanks to his 1985 Music record label, which showcases some of the best drum and bass artist in the world. 1985 Music blends dubstep, drum and bass, and halftime experimental music in ways rarely seen and the results are always impressive. 1985 has released a compilation album Fragment / 1, which showcases some of the best artists from the UK as well as a new tune from Alix Perez himself.
Our second release, which comes from another of the most impressive UK artists, is a banger. Hamdi has been topping the charts for more than a year now, as his career has exploded thanks to collaborations with Peekaboo and legend Skrillex. He has linked up with another all time legend in Marshmello for “Fired Up.” This high energy release is one that you are not going to want to miss.
Underground dubstep has provided some of the best and brightest new tunes and artists this year already. One of the amazing labels that is growing its following and fan base while making waves is The Gradient Perspective. With some deep dubstep up and comers like Dublink and Contra, The Gradient Perspective offers a unique mix of deep dubstep along with some more instrumental releases. Their most recent release, TPG 149 titled Dubstep Compilation has something for all dubstep fans.
To round out the dive, we come back to the more mainstream US releases with a new EP from Zingara. From playing at some of the biggest US festivals such as Electric Forest to supporting LSDream on his most recent tour, Zingara’s career has been raised to new heights. It is no surprise that her newest EP, For The Crystal Children, is an ethereal blend of wubs and bass.
Be sure to stay tuned for more dubstep news and releases throughout the year!
