Power Your Runs: 5 EDM Tracks to Keep You Moving

While I’m not someone who inherently loves running, I—like many others—am gearing up to incorporate some form of cardio into my routine as the new year brings fresh goals and positive momentum. Whether it’s hitting the pavement, taking an EDM spin class (highly recommend!), or something else entirely, there’s a cardio workout for everyone. For me, adding a running regime feels especially rewarding—it’s great to get outside and move. And nothing powers a run quite like EDM, with beats that make your feet feel weightless and drive your energy to new heights.  Here are five of my favorite EDM tracks to fuel your runs. I hope you find something new to love!

“feel U luv Me” by Knock2

House music takes center stage in this list, as its higher tempos tend to be just what the body needs during a workout. Knock2’s signature bass house style is truly unmatched, and “Feel U Luv Me” is no exception. The first and third drops feature Knock2’s classic saturated chord progressions that bring life to the beat. Just when your energy dips, the hook into the second drop provides a perfectly timed boost to keep you going strong.

“Gassed UP” by Jauz, DJ Snake

This track is pure energy incarnate. With its faster tempo, “Gassed Up” is a bass house banger that’ll have your legs moving faster in no time. The aggressive downbeats set the pace, while the fun and playful tone keeps you engaged. The second drop’s intricate accents give you a surge of power right when you need it most.

“stayinit” by Fred Again.., Lil Yachty, Overmono

There’s something magical about a song with a catchy hook, and “stayinit” nails it. Fred Again’s knack for crafting captivating melodies shines here, with the hook seamlessly leading into a soaring drop layered over a drum and bass beat. The track is light, motivational, and keeps things interesting. Plus, the lyrics serve as a reminder to push through and keep going.

“Alien Communication” by Subtronics

It wouldn’t be one of my playlists without some bass. “Alien Communication” blends house and dubstep seamlessly, delivering a track that’s as dynamic as your run. Subtronics starts with a house-inspired drop before diving into an explosive dubstep segment, transitioning back and forth for maximum impact. The second drop leans heavily on house beats, setting an energetic pace that’s perfect for powering through your workout.

“Hammer Time” by Spag Heddy, Kompany

Rounding out the list is a heavy-hitting dubstep track that’s perfect for adding variety to your running playlist. “Hammer Time” delivers saturated basslines and clever hooks in its first two drops, with a final drop that shifts into a dubstep-inspired drum and bass section. The faster tempo and intricate sound design will leave you feeling energized and ready to tackle the rest of your run.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, the right playlist can make all the difference. These songs bring energy, variety, and motivation to every stride. Let me know if you have favorites I should check out—I’m always looking to add to my running playlist!
