One of the biggest names in drum & bass has linked up in the studio once more to bring fans some banging dnb tunes just in time for summer. If you are looking for the perfect songs to put on during a long summer drive, look no further than the most recent project from Visages. A collaborative effort from four of Europe’s finest producers, Visages’ newest Reset single is not a release that you are going to want to miss. Visages has been on the forefront of UK garage, drum & bass, and deep dub for over five years, making some of the most iconic and heavy hitting songs to come out of Europe. Recurring artists on Alix Perez’s 1985 record label, Visages has made a name for themselves as pushing the boundaries when it comes to blending genres. From their deep dark drum and bass to the more melodic tunes and collaborations such as recently released “Reset” which features Alix Perez, the four-person group is able to do it all. Their newest release proves this point perfectly. Containing a melodic drum & bass collaboration with Alix Perez, a heavy hitting UK grime-inspired drum and bass to straight bassline bangers, this newest three-single release is one that any drum & bass fan should check out. There is something for everyone to enjoy on this groundbreaking release.
There is something special about the dark bass lines and crisp hi hats that drive the tempo in any Visages single. Recently released “FFO” is a great example of just how dark Visages can be. Leaning on the side of deep dubstep, this single pushes the tempo with its deep bass and intricate drums. Visages tunes are some of the best not only for their depth, but the simplicity. There is something refreshing and enjoyable about a tune that knows its lane. No need for extra flare and energy when you make a single that bumps as hard as Visages’ “FFO.” Not only have they perfected the deep dub to drum and bass pipeline, but they have bridged into the world of MCs and vocalist as well. There is no doubting that “Crystal Clear” is a perfect example of how Visages is able to combine some swagger-filled UK vocals with a heavy bassline. One thing is clear, if you like drum and bass then you need to check out Visages’ most recent release, Reset.
